Luna + Slardar

Why this works

Applying Slardar's Corrosive Haze to a target sets up a simple but effective plan. The massive armor reduction makes them extremely vulnerable to Luna's physical damage from attacks and bouncing Moon Glaives. A quick Slithereen Crush is often all the time Luna needs to secure a kill on a softened enemy. This isn't about a huge wombo-combo, but rather about turning one hero into paper for a few seconds. The damage bonus from Lunar Blessing is also a small but welcome boost for Slardar as he's chasing people down, making the pair a decent threat during the laning stage.

The game plan revolves around Slardar finding an initiation and marking a priority target for Luna to focus. If they can execute this on a core, they can create a big advantage in a teamfight. However, the strategy is predictable. Aware opponents will keep saves like a Force Staff or Glimmer Cape ready for the Haze target. They can also turn and burst the fragile Luna as soon as Slardar dives in, leaving him isolated. This directness makes the pairing effective when it works, but also straightforward to play against, which keeps its advantage in check.
