How Lycan and Windranger perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Lycan and Windranger win 49.51% of ranked matches when playing on the same team, over 9,918 matches.
Pushing with an early Shapeshift can feel awkward for this pair. Lycan wants his entire team to run at a tower with his wolves, but Windranger's main contribution is often using Focus Fire to kill a single hero. This can lead to a split focus where Lycan is hitting a building while Windranger is trying to secure a kill somewhere else. While a good Shackleshot can set up an easy kill for Lycan's pack, the overall game plans don't always overlap cleanly. Lycan is about overwhelming objectives with a deathball, whereas Windranger often prefers finding pickoffs or needs more items to join those big pushes. Their timings and ideal fight scenarios are simply different.
