Magnus + Morphling

Why this works

Giving farm to both these cores can lead to a slow start for the team. The main issue is that Magnus's Empower is a poor fit for Morphling. As a hero who is ranged for most of the game, Morphling gets no benefit from the cleave that Empower provides. This means one of Magnus's defining abilities isn't accelerating his carry's farm the way it's supposed to. Instead of one hero flash-farming the map, you have two heroes trying to find their own space and gold, which can put the entire team on the back foot.

This dynamic often results in a weak mid-game where the whole strategy hinges on Magnus landing a perfect Reverse Polarity. Morphling excels at deleting a single target, not wiping a whole group of stunned enemies, so he's not the ideal follow-up for that kind of setup. If the big ultimate fails or whiffs, the team doesn't have a clear backup plan. The game becomes about waiting for one big spell instead of executing a cohesive strategy, making it difficult to control the map or consistently win fights.
