Magnus + Outworld Destroyer

Why this works

Farming up on the map becomes awkward because Magnus's Empower offers very little to Outworld Destroyer. Empower grants cleave and bonus physical damage, a huge part of Magnus's contribution to his team's economy and mid-game pressure. Since Outworld Destroyer's damage comes from his intelligence-based spells and Arcane Orb, he gains almost no benefit from Empower. This means a core part of Magnus's kit is effectively dead when he's trying to enable OD, slowing down the team's overall farm and item progression compared to pairing him with a physical damage carry.

The game often hinges on waiting for one specific ultimate combination. The team has to play around the hope that Magnus can land a big Reverse Polarity to set up Outworld Destroyer's Sanity's Eclipse. While this can be a strong combo, the lack of synergy outside of that moment makes the game difficult. The duo struggles to generate map pressure or accelerate farm on their own, often leaving them playing from behind. Opponents can exploit this by forcing fights before those ultimates are ready or by simply out-farming them across the map.
