Magnus + Primal Beast

Why this works

Setting up a Reverse Polarity for Primal Beast to follow up with Pulverize can feel redundant. Both ultimates provide a large area of control, so layering them is often overkill and wastes a long cooldown for a single lockdown. Magnus also wants to enable a core with Empower, but Primal Beast's damage comes mostly from his spells like Trample, not his physical attacks. The cleave and bonus damage don't amplify his main strengths as much as they would for a dedicated right-click carry, making the combination less than ideal.

In teamfights, this means you have two heroes trying to do a similar job of initiating and controlling the enemy. While having a backup initiation is useful if one hero gets caught, it usually leaves your team lacking in other areas, like sustained backline damage or defensive support. Magnus and Primal Beast both want to be the center of attention, running at the enemy. A successful game with this duo often relies on the other three heroes filling the gaps perfectly, providing the tools this pair doesn't offer.
