Marci + Rubick

Why this works

Getting thrown back by Marci's Dispose only to be immediately lifted by Rubick's Telekinesis can create a solid lockdown chain. The setup is straightforward and provides a good way to isolate a single hero during the early laning stage or in small skirmishes. The problem is that this play requires both heroes to commit together in close quarters. If the target survives the initial burst or gets help, Rubick is left exposed in a dangerous position, making the attempt a significant risk for a fragile hero.

Later in the game, their objectives often don't align. Marci wants to dive a specific hero with Unleash, a commitment that Rubick usually can't and shouldn't follow. Rubick is better off staying on the edges of the fight, looking to steal a game-winning spell and control the engagement from a safe distance. Because Marci's game plan is so focused on her own dive and Rubick's depends on the enemy's draft, they frequently end up playing two separate games within the same teamfight, rather than enabling each other.
