Why this works

Thinking you need a defensive support for Spectre completely misses what makes this pair strong. The moment Spectre uses Haunt, Marci can use Rebound on the illusion closest to the target. She arrives instantly, stuns on landing, and can Dispose the enemy back into Spectre's path. This provides guaranteed, long-range initiation and lockdown that a solo Spectre could never manage. It turns a simple Haunt gank into a nearly inescapable kill setup, catching people who thought they were positioned safely far from the fight.

This dynamic warps the entire mid-game. Instead of passively farming, Spectre becomes an active killer with Marci from the moment Haunt is ready. Any isolated hero becomes a potential target, accelerating Spectre’s farm with kills instead of creeps. The opposing team has to constantly worry about a global gank and is forced to play closer together. This defensive posture gives the Marci and Spectre team free rein over large parts of the map, choking out the enemy’s resources as they turtle up.
