Mars + Muerta

Why this works

Fighting inside Arena of Blood highlights the core problem here. Mars wants to trap enemies and pin them to the walls, but this often pushes targets out of Muerta's effective attack range. During Pierce the Veil, she needs to maintain a safe distance while attacking, and she can't afford to run into the middle of the Arena to reach a speared or pinned enemy. Their early game setup is also weak. Lacking reliable, instant lockdown, Mars and Muerta can't easily secure kills and instead end up competing for farm in lane, slowing down both of their timings.

This difficult setup leads to a clumsy mid-game. With both heroes needing items, the team lacks a strong initiator who can create space alone. When a teamfight does happen, the signature ultimates often feel wasted. The enemy team knows that after Mars uses his Arena, they can either ignore the pinned targets and go straight for Muerta, or simply wait out the durations. This failure to convert their biggest spells into kills means Mars and Muerta struggle to secure objectives or control the map, allowing the opponent to set the pace.
