Mars + Techies

Why this works

Trapping enemies in Arena of Blood often works against Techies's game plan. The arena's wall physically blocks Proximity Mines, splitting the battlefield and potentially shielding enemies from carefully laid traps. While Mars wants to create a contained kill zone for the team to focus down, Techies excels at controlling larger areas over time. A well-placed ultimate from Mars can completely negate the defensive minefields Techies has established, making it much harder to defend objectives or high ground.

This leaves the duo without a clear, combined teamfight strategy. Mars will look to initiate and trap targets, but Techies lacks a safe way to contribute major damage inside the arena; using Blast Off! for follow-up often means sacrificing himself. On the other hand, playing around Techies's defensive setups requires a level of patience and positioning that doesn't suit Mars's desire to be on the front line, actively looking for a fight. The two heroes simply want to play the game in different ways, leading to awkward and disjointed engagements.
