Mars + Warlock

Why this works

Picking both Mars and Warlock forces your team to solve a problem you created for yourself. The core issue is that their big teamfight spells actively work against each other. Mars wants to trap enemies inside Arena of Blood, but the solid wall he creates can block vision and prevent Warlock from finding a good spot to drop his Golem. Even if Warlock does get it off, enemies inside the Arena are often scattered and running, making it hard to land a multi-hero stun or get full value from a channeled Upheaval.

This tension plays out in mid-game fights. Mars will often initiate, trapping key targets, but the expected massive follow-up from Warlock never quite materializes. Warlock is left on the outside, trying to position for a delayed Golem, or casting Fatal Bonds on targets that are too spread out to punish. This gives the enemy team time to react, either by bursting the isolated Mars inside his own ultimate or by turning on the vulnerable Warlock. The result is a disjointed engagement where neither hero can execute their game plan effectively.
