Mars + Windranger

Why this works

Setting up a kill with this pair feels harder than it looks. The combo is supposed to be trapping someone in Arena of Blood for Windranger to hit, but the Arena wall itself blocks her Shackleshot and Powershot. If Windranger stays outside, she can’t land the stun needed to hold a target for Focus Fire. This forces her into a dangerous position inside the ring, where she’s an easy target. On top of that, both Mars and Windranger often focus on physical damage, which lets enemies counter both cores by building the same armor items.

Later on, this problem gets worse. Mars will commit his ultimate to start a fight, but Windranger struggles to follow up effectively from a safe spot. The enemy team gets to fight a separated Mars while Windranger repositions to find an angle that works. By the time she can contribute fully, the enemy might have already turned on Mars or used defensive items to wait out the Arena. This lack of a clean setup means their key abilities are often out of sync, leading to lost teamfights.
