Medusa + Pudge

Why this works

Having an active Pudge on the map can give Medusa the breathing room she needs to farm. While Medusa is focused on building up her core items, Pudge's constant threat of a Meat Hook keeps enemies occupied and away from her side of the map. His kit provides the kind of lockdown Medusa lacks before she gets her own items online. A successful Hook followed by a Dismember will hold a target perfectly still, giving Medusa a clean window to apply damage and secure a kill she might otherwise have to chase.

This pairing often lets the team play on two different tempos at once. Pudge creates pressure and looks for skirmishes from the start, while Medusa can focus almost entirely on her own economy. If Pudge finds a few key pickoffs, Medusa comes online into a game where her team is already ahead on the map. The main risk is that Pudge doesn't offer much defensive support. If his aggression fails and the enemy team decides to coordinate against Medusa instead, she can still be overwhelmed before her Mana Shield is strong enough to keep her safe.
