Medusa + Queen of Pain

Why this works

Picking these two heroes together often creates a tension in your team's game plan. Queen of Pain is a tempo hero who wants to hit an early power spike and start forcing fights across the map with her mobility and burst damage. Medusa is the opposite; she is a static hero who needs significant time and protected space to farm the items required to function as a primary carry. While QoP's aggression can create some of that space, she herself wants to capitalize on those early advantages, not simply act as a setup for a carry who isn't ready to fight yet.

This timing mismatch can define the entire match. If Queen of Pain can't secure a big enough lead on her own, the team often finds itself playing four-on-five while Medusa farms. The opposing team can exploit this by grouping up and forcing objectives before Medusa is a factor. While a well-placed Stone Gaze can set up a perfect Sonic Wave, coordinating this can be difficult when the heroes want to be in different places. The draft works best if Queen of Pain completely dominates her lane and the early game, but that's a risky bet.
