Why this works

Figuring out who gets the safe farm can be a problem for this pair. Both Medusa and Windranger need a significant gold investment to become effective damage dealers. While a good Shackleshot can set up a kill, Medusa's early damage is low, and she can't always capitalize on the stun duration. Later, Stone Gaze is a powerful teamfight tool, but it doesn't offer any special interaction with Windranger's kit that another area-of-effect disable wouldn't. They mostly operate as two independent damage dealers who happen to be on the same team, rather than a cohesive unit.

This dynamic often leads to a greedy lineup that can struggle to control the game's tempo. With both Medusa and Windranger focused on hitting their item timings, the team can lack early-game pressure and be vulnerable to aggression. If the enemy team pushes the pace, they can find themselves fighting from behind without the space needed for both cores to farm. Success with this duo usually relies on the other three heroes being self-sufficient and capable of creating space against a coordinated enemy, which can be a difficult task.
