Monkey King + Necrophos

Why this works

Both these heroes often demand a lot of the map's resources to hit their key timings, which can lead to them competing for farm. Their fighting styles also clash. Monkey King wants to find an angle, jump in, and secure a quick kill with his Jingu Mastery burst. Necrophos, on the other hand, prefers a drawn-out brawl where he can wear enemies down with Heartstopper Aura and stay alive with repeated Death Pulse casts. Monkey King's fast-in, fast-out approach doesn't create the slow, grinding fight that Necrophos thrives in.

This disconnect becomes clear during mid-game teamfights. Monkey King might dive a target, but the follow-up from Necrophos is sustained damage, not the lockdown or burst needed to confirm the kill. Wukong's Command can lock down an area, but it doesn't solve the core problem of getting a target low enough for Reaper's Scythe without help. For this pair to succeed, they usually rely on another teammate to provide the hard initiation that forces enemies to stand and fight, bridging the gap between their conflicting tempos.
