Monkey King + Windranger

Why this works

Pairing up for a gank looks good on paper, chaining Shackleshot into Boundless Strike for a kill. The real problem shows up in teamfights when both heroes want to deal damage. Monkey King and Windranger both rely heavily on physical attacks. When Monkey King creates a Wukong's Command arena, enemies often use items like Ghost Scepter or evasion abilities to survive. This same defensive move completely negates Windranger's Focus Fire, meaning the enemy's solution to one hero is also the perfect solution to the other.

Across the map, this duo struggles for resources since both heroes typically want farm priority to come online. One of them is often left under-leveled and under-farmed, weakening the whole plan. When fights do break out, Monkey King might initiate and draw out the key defensive spells, but that leaves Windranger without a good target for her ultimate. Instead of one hero setting up the other, they end up competing for the same role and being shut down by the exact same enemy responses, leaving the team with a major physical damage deficit.
