Morphling + Shadow Shaman

Why this works

Forcing objectives together can feel awkward because the two heroes operate on completely different timetables. Shadow Shaman provides some of the longest disables in the game with Hex and Shackles, which in theory sets up a kill for a core. However, an early-game Morphling is almost entirely focused on farming items and doesn't have the burst damage to reliably finish a target during that lockdown. A gank attempt that might be a guaranteed kill with another carry can fall flat, leaving Morphling behind on farm and the Shaman out of position for nothing.

This dynamic often results in the two playing separate games. Shadow Shaman wants to group up, find pickoffs, and push towers with Serpent Wards to create map pressure. Morphling needs to avoid those early fights to secure his own economy, farming lanes and jungle camps until he hits a key item. The outcome of the match then depends on whether the rest of the team can win fights with Shaman while Morphling farms, or if the enemy team can punish the split-up strategy before Morphling comes online.
