Why this works

Setting up the perfect teamfight becomes more reliable with this pairing. Song of the Siren provides an ideal window for Witch Doctor to position himself aggressively and land Maledict on key targets without any immediate threat. Once the Song ends, the enemy team is primed for a full-duration Death Ward. This combination removes a lot of the usual guesswork and risk from Witch Doctor's setup, as Naga Siren can guarantee the enemy team is grouped up and stationary for his most impactful spells. Ensnare can then hold down anyone who survives the initial burst.

The threat of this combination can force the enemy to play much more cautiously, especially around Roshan or high ground, which in turn gives Naga Siren more space to farm and apply pressure with her illusions. However, both ultimates have very long cooldowns, and the duo is much less threatening when they are not available. Teams with strong BKB-piercing stuns can also try to cancel Death Ward the moment Song ends. The game often revolves around these specific timings, with one side trying to execute the combo and the other trying to fight when it's unavailable.
