Shadow Fiend + Shadow Shaman

Why this works

Picking these two together often comes down to needing more reliable single-target burst. Shadow Shaman's disables provide the perfect setup for a hero like Shadow Fiend who needs enemies to stay still. An opponent caught by Shackles becomes an easy target for landing multiple Shadowrazes in a row. Even a quick Hex is often enough of a window for Shadow Fiend to get into position for his spells or a close-range Requiem of Souls, making kill attempts much more consistent.

This lane combo usually tries to build a lead by finding kills and converting them into objectives. A rotation from Shadow Shaman can secure an early advantage for Shadow Fiend, which they can then use to pressure a tower with Mass Serpent Ward. The opposing team has to play carefully and avoid getting caught out of position, especially by themselves. Their goal is to either burst down the squishy Shadow Shaman before he can chain his disables or have a save ready to survive the initial lockdown, knowing that if the gank fails, both heroes have used important cooldowns.
