Nyx Assassin + Rubick

Why this works

Playing against this duo feels like there's nowhere safe to farm. Nyx Assassin provides excellent scouting with Vendetta, allowing Rubick to position aggressively for a follow-up. The initiation is straightforward: Nyx's Impale sets up an easy Telekinesis, locking a single hero down for a long time. More importantly, Impale is a fantastic, reliable area-of-effect stun for Rubick to take with Spell Steal. This gives Rubick a dependable spell to use even if the enemy team lacks flashy ultimates, making his own impact more consistent.

This partnership excels at creating early pickoffs that control the map's tempo. In teamfights, having two sources of ground-targeted stuns can be very difficult for opponents to play around, especially for squishy backliners. The advantage remains slight because the combo relies heavily on getting the initial jump. Both Nyx Assassin and Rubick are fragile and can be overwhelmed by tanky heroes who survive the initial burst and turn the fight. Their combined damage also falls off, so they need to create a solid lead with their control before enemy cores get too big to handle.
