Oracle + Slardar

Why this works

Getting run down by an aggressive Slardar is one thing, but it’s much harder to deal with when an Oracle is backing him up. You can commit spells to try and burst Slardar as he sprints in, but a well-timed False Promise often means he survives the focus, lands his Slithereen Crush, and applies Corrosive Haze. While Slardar is being saved, the rest of his team is free to tear apart the debuffed target. Oracle’s Fortune's End can also provide a useful root to set up the initial engagement, making it easier for Slardar to connect with his stun and start the chain.

The effectiveness of this pairing, however, really depends on the rest of the draft. Oracle himself doesn’t do much physical damage, so he can’t take full advantage of the armor reduction from Corrosive Haze. The duo needs a third hero, usually a position one or two, who can output high physical damage to capitalize on the setup. Opponents who recognize this will try to focus Oracle first, knowing he's the key to keeping Slardar’s aggression going. If they can get a silence or stun on him before he can cast his ultimate, the whole dive falls apart.
