Pangolier + Razor

Why this works

Trying to lock down a key hero with Razor often feels at odds with what Pangolier wants to do. The main issue comes down to their biggest spells. Razor needs a target to stay close for Static Link and Eye of the Storm to do their work. Pangolier, on the other hand, wants to cause maximum disruption with Rolling Thunder, which stuns and knocks enemies all over the place. A well-intentioned roll from Pangolier can easily knock Razor's target out of link range, effectively saving them and wasting Razor's cooldowns. Their ideal fight patterns simply don't line up well.

This friction means teamfights can get awkward. For the combination to work, the Pangolier player has to be very mindful of who Razor is targeting, potentially holding back their ultimate or using it only on the edges of the fight. This requires a level of coordination that isn't always easy to achieve. While both heroes bring a lot of damage and can certainly function on their own, their core abilities actively work against each other in crucial moments. The duo isn't dysfunctional, but they don't make each other's jobs any easier.
