Pangolier + Rubick

Why this works

Picking these two together often feels like you're relying on the enemy team to provide the synergy. Pangolier's own spells aren't premium targets for Rubick's Spell Steal, meaning the duo's potential is tied to what Rubick can take from his opponents. Their combined lockdown is also tricky. They lack a simple, long-duration disable to set each other up, instead relying on a quick Telekinesis lift to help aim a Rolling Thunder. This puts a lot of pressure on their timing and on Rubick finding a more impactful spell to contribute once the chaos starts.

The result is an inconsistent pairing across the game. Their lanes can feel weak, with decent harass but little ability to secure kills without help. In mid-game teamfights, success often hinges on one of two things: either Pangolier lands a perfect multi-hero roll or Rubick steals a game-winning ultimate. If the enemy draft is durable and lacks those big, stealable spells, both Pangolier and Rubick can find themselves struggling to have a decisive impact, creating disruption without being able to finish off key targets.
