Phoenix + Sniper

Why this works

Getting a clean kill on Sniper becomes a real problem with Phoenix on the team. Any attempt to dive the backline can be met with a volley of Fire Spirits, crippling the attacker's ability to deal damage. If a full teamfight breaks out, Phoenix can drop Supernova. This creates a dilemma: either focus the egg and eat free shots from Sniper, or scatter and get picked off from a distance. Phoenix provides the exact kind of area denial and forced positioning that lets a fragile hero like Sniper operate safely from the edge of a fight.

This pairing comes together during mid-game teamfights. Phoenix’s goal is to disrupt the enemy engage and land a high-impact Supernova. A successful stun gives Sniper a window to hit multiple heroes without any threat. The main counter-play is to burst Phoenix down before he can use his ultimate, or to draft heroes who can destroy the egg very quickly. Because the combination depends heavily on Phoenix’s positioning and survival, its effectiveness can vary from fight to fight, making the advantage helpful but not always decisive.
