Puck + Shadow Shaman

Why this works

Farming for a Blink Dagger is the main point of conflict here. Puck needs one to initiate safely and Shadow Shaman needs one to get his lockdowns off. Since Shaman farms so slowly, getting both heroes their key item on time is a real struggle for the team's economy. The overall tempo suffers while waiting for a core item on a support who can't effectively use his kit from the back lines. Even when they do get to combo, their control can be redundant. Dream Coil often holds a target in place well enough, making a full duration Shackles on top of it feel like overkill.

A winning game usually involves one of these heroes getting a massive head start. A snowballing Puck creates the chaos and space for Shadow Shaman to find farm and eventually place good Mass Serpent Wards on objectives. A Shaman who gets early kills can afford his Blink and set up ganks for Puck. When neither hero secures a strong early lead, the team often feels passive and unable to start fights. Opponents can exploit this window to build their own advantage, making the outcome feel very dependent on how the laning stage plays out.
