Pudge + Spectre

Why this works

Thinking of these two as playing separate games is a mistake. Pudge isn't only creating space for Spectre to farm; he's setting up her kills directly. A successful Meat Hook on a lone enemy is a dinner bell for Spectre. She can use Haunt to instantly join the fight from anywhere on the map. By the time Pudge's Dismember is over, the target has no chance to escape the damage. Spectre herself lacks the lockdown to deal with slippery heroes, and Pudge provides that exact tool, turning any pick-off attempt into a guaranteed kill.

This dynamic puts the enemy team in a bind as soon as Spectre gets her ultimate. They can no longer farm lanes aggressively or split up, because any hero Pudge finds becomes an easy target. This forces them to play defensively and grouped, which slows down their own economy and opens up the map for Spectre to farm safely. That constant threat accelerates Spectre toward her core items, letting her take over the game much sooner than she normally would. The pressure is immense, and it all starts with a single hook.
