Pudge + Tinker

Why this works

Setting up a kill for Tinker with a long-range Hook seems straightforward, but the two heroes often operate on different maps. Pudge wants to be brawling and looking for pickoffs with his team, creating chaos up close. Tinker, on the other hand, spends most of the game farming distant lanes and jungle camps alone, trying to accelerate his item progression. While a successful Hook and Dismember provides more than enough lockdown for Tinker to unload his spells, the issue is getting them both in the same place at the same time without compromising one of their game plans.

This leads to a disjointed mid-game. Pudge might be looking for a fight in the enemy jungle while Tinker is farming the opposite side of the map. If Pudge finds a good initiation, Tinker may not be able to join in time. Conversely, if Tinker gets caught while split-pushing, a slow-moving Pudge offers no real way to save him from across the map. They can feel like two separate entities playing their own game, which can make it hard to build and maintain momentum as a team.
