Pugna + Zeus

Why this works

Amplifying Zeus's spells with Decrepify is the main idea here. Pugna can set up a target to take huge damage from Lightning Bolt and Thundergod's Wrath, potentially bursting them from full health. This gives the team a powerful single-target magic nuke. Pugna's Nether Ward can also add to the pressure, punishing enemies who try to trade spells back into the massive area damage that Zeus puts out. Life Drain provides some follow-up damage or a way for Pugna to sustain himself while the chaos unfolds.

The plan falls apart if either hero gets caught out of position. Both Pugna and Zeus are very fragile and offer no stuns of their own, making them reliant on their teammates for initiation or peel. If the enemy team has multiple heroes that can close the gap, this duo has a hard time. While Decrepify can save Zeus from a physical attacker, it also makes him more vulnerable to enemy spellcasters. Ultimately, their effectiveness is very conditional on the drafts and whether they can execute their burst before being focused down.
