Clockwerk + Shadow Shaman

Why this works

Thinking about Clockwerk setting up a perfect kill for Shadow Shaman is a common trap. While a Hookshot into Power Cogs does provide an ideal window for Shackles and Mass Serpent Ward, it often commits two heroes to killing one target. This leaves both of them vulnerable; Clockwerk is stuck inside his own Cogs, and Shaman is a stationary target while channeling. If the enemy team is even remotely nearby to help their captured ally, they can often turn the engagement around and kill both heroes for the price of one. The setup looks clean on paper, but it's a very telegraphed and risky maneuver.

This dynamic means the pair excels at punishing players who are out of position. Ganking a lone hero is where the combo shines, securing a pickoff that can open up the map. In a full five-on-five teamfight, however, it's much harder to execute safely. Initiating on a core who has buyback or is surrounded by their teammates can easily backfire, leading to a lost fight. The success of the laning stage and mid-game ganks depends heavily on whether the enemy team plays scattered or grouped, making the overall result feel unpredictable.
