Razor + Sand King

Why this works

Setting up Razor's Static Link with a Burrowstrike is the core idea for this lane or gank. The problem is that both heroes need a target to be locked down for their most important spells, and they don't give each other much help. Sand King offers his one stun, and after that, Razor is on his own to maintain the link. Going the other way, Razor's Plasma Field slow is rarely enough lockdown to guarantee that a full Epicenter channel goes off uninterrupted. They both demand control but can't consistently provide it for one another beyond that initial Burrowstrike.

This tension plays out in teamfights. Sand King wants to find a big opening to jump into the enemy team and cause chaos. Razor is usually looking for a single important hero to isolate and drain from a safe distance, often kiting on the fight's perimeter. Because their ideal positions and targets don't always align, they can end up splitting their focus. Unless the rest of the team provides a lot of control to bridge the gap, Sand King and Razor can feel like they're enacting two separate plans at once, which makes for messy, uncoordinated fights.
