Picking these two supports together often means committing to a slower, more defensive laning stage. Warlock's Fatal Bonds and Upheaval can create opportunities for Rubick to land Telekinesis and contribute damage, but the real challenge lies with Spell Steal. Warlock’s own abilities, particularly Chaotic Offering, are exactly the high-impact spells Rubick loves to steal. With Warlock as an ally, one of the best potential targets is off the table, forcing Rubick to rely entirely on the enemy team's draft to find a game-winning spell.

This pairing's success usually hinges on teamfights after the laning stage. The goal is for Warlock to land a big Chaotic Offering, creating chaos and a frontline distraction. This gives Rubick the space and time he needs to get into position and steal a crucial enemy ability. If Warlock can successfully set the stage, Rubick can turn the fight. However, if Warlock is caught out before he can use his ultimate, or if the enemy team lacks good spells to steal, the composition can feel disjointed and lack the tools to react to aggression.
