Locking down a target for Wraith King to hit is the whole game plan here. Shadow Shaman provides some of the longest, most reliable single-target disables available, between Hex and Shackles. This gives Wraith King all the time he needs to walk up and start hitting, securing kills that his own single stun might not be enough for. The chain of disables is simple to execute and devastatingly effective from the earliest stages of the game, creating constant pressure on any lane the two heroes occupy. It’s a very straightforward and powerful offensive combination.

This duo translates that early kill threat directly into objectives. With Shadow Shaman’s Mass Serpent Ward, they can melt towers while Wraith King tanks the structure and any incoming damage. His Reincarnation means they can commit to objectives aggressively, forcing the enemy to respond to a push they can’t easily stop. In teamfights, Shadow Shaman can peel for his king or use his lockdown to delete a priority target from the fight, leaving the enemy team to deal with a raid boss who refuses to die and keeps on hitting.
