Shadow Shaman + Windranger

Why this works

Locking a target down for a full Shackles seems like the perfect setup for Windranger to unload with Focus Fire. The theory is sound, and it can lead to easy pickoffs. The issue is that both heroes are specialists in single-target lockdown and burst. Shadow Shaman's Hex and Shackles are often enough to secure a kill with help from anyone, not specifically Windranger. So while the setup works, it can feel like overkill. You're stacking two heroes who do the same job, which can be less effective than pairing one of them with a hero that covers their weaknesses, like an AoE damage dealer or a durable front-liner.

Early ganks with this duo can be effective, but the game plan doesn't scale that well. Your team becomes reliant on catching one enemy hero out of position. If the enemy team starts grouping up, or if their key target gets a defensive item, the effectiveness of your big combo drops off hard. Both Windranger and Shadow Shaman can be left feeling vulnerable and without a good follow-up plan if their initial target survives. You're investing a lot into a single-target assassination that might not always pay off, leaving your team without other options in a wider teamfight.
