Timbersaw + Silencer

Why this works

Trying to chain your spells together as Timbersaw feels a lot harder when your main support is a Silencer. Timbersaw needs a root or a stun to hold enemies in place for Chakram and Whirling Death, but Silencer's kit offers none of that. His silences are good for stopping spellcasters, but they don't stop enemies from simply walking away from Timbersaw's area-of-effect damage. Global Silence can set up a gank, but Timbersaw is not the hero you want following up on it; he’s slow and can’t close the distance on a silenced but mobile target. Their abilities don't create opportunities for each other.

This leads to a disjointed game plan. In lane, there’s no real kill threat because there’s no hard disable to lock someone down for Timber Chain. Later, Timbersaw wants to be in the enemy's face, forcing long, scrappy brawls where his durability and sustained damage shine. Silencer, however, usually prefers to stay on the edge of the fight, using his spells to control key targets from a safe distance. They end up operating on different wavelengths, which makes it feel like your team is playing with four heroes and a separate Timbersaw, not a cohesive unit of five.
