Why this works

Casting The Swarm on a backline hero gives Spectre a perfect target for Haunt. The vision tracks the victim even if they try to run, and the armor reduction makes Spectre's physical damage hit much harder from the moment she arrives. While the main Haunt illusion batters the target, Weaver can zip around with Shukuchi to cause confusion or add his own damage. This often separates the initial target from their allies, ensuring Spectre gets the bonus damage from Desolate and securing a quick kill before the enemy team can properly react.

This constant pick-off threat forces opponents to play defensively and stick together from the mid-game onward. A support wandering off to place a ward becomes a liability. The space created by this pressure is exactly what both Spectre and Weaver need to accelerate their farm and hit their late-game item timings. For the enemy team, the only way to play is to force early five-on-five engagements and try to end the game before both cores come fully online, because they struggle to contest split-pushing or farming heroes when they can't risk splitting up themselves.
