Storm Spirit + Warlock

Why this works

Following up on a Warlock ultimate can be awkward for Storm Spirit. Chaotic Offering has a cast time and wants to hit multiple heroes who are already grouped. Storm, however, prefers to initiate on his own terms with Ball Lightning, often on an isolated target. By the time Warlock gets in range to drop a good Golem, Storm has either already killed his target and moved on, or he’s been forced to commit deeper than he wants to without the instant backup he needs. The pacing of their abilities simply doesn't line up very well for setting up kills.

This leads to a clash in how both heroes want to play the mid-game. Storm is looking to be active across the map, creating pressure with solo pick-offs. Warlock's game plan revolves around grouping up with the team for slower, more deliberate objective pushes where he can get maximum value from Fatal Bonds and his ultimate. The result is that one hero is often compromising their ideal fight. Either Storm is forced into a five-on-five he isn't ready for, or Warlock is using his massive teamfight spells to secure a single kill, which feels inefficient.
