Techies + Tusk

Why this works

Thinking about a Tusk initiation seems like it would be great for Techies. Tusk can use Snowball to roll onto a hero and stun them with Walrus PUNCH!, creating a stationary target. Techies can then follow up with Blast Off! and a Sticky Bomb for what should be a straightforward kill. The problem is that this is the extent of their interaction. Tusk’s abilities are all about engaging a single target, but he has no tools to force enemies into the Proximity Mines that Techies spends time setting up across the map.

In practice, this means the two heroes often operate independently. Tusk will roam for ganks, while Techies focuses on mining key areas for defense or objective control. They might connect for a pickoff in the mid-game, but it’s a standard stun-into-damage combo that many heroes could provide. When larger fights break out, Tusk dives a priority target, but this rarely aligns with the spots Techies has mined for area denial. The result is two heroes executing separate game plans that don't reliably build on each other's greatest strengths.
