Why this works

Thinking this duo is only about the big Ravage combo is a common mistake. The real advantage is more subtle and comes from map-wide pressure. Tidehunter's job is to initiate and be a durable frontline presence. This creates chaos and time. While that's happening, Zeus can safely unload damage from the backline. Even if Tidehunter initiates a fight across the map, Thundergod's Wrath means Zeus always gets to contribute damage, picking off weakened heroes who think they've escaped or softening everyone up before the fight is truly joined.

The game plan revolves around Tidehunter’s ultimate cooldown. When Ravage is ready, your team can confidently force objectives, knowing you have a fight-winning lockdown to set up Zeus’s spells. The enemy has to play cautiously and spread out, which makes it harder for them to gank or push. Between these big moments, the synergy is less pronounced. Tidehunter uses Gush to slow a target for a potential pickoff, but a lot of the time they're just playing their own games. It’s that constant, global damage from Zeus layered on top of Tidehunter's teamfight control that gives a slight edge.
