Tusk + Weaver

Why this works

Facing this pair often feels less threatening than it should. Tusk wants to commit hard with Snowball and Walrus PUNCH, creating a small window to burst a target. Weaver, however, excels at hit-and-run tactics. He uses Shukuchi to weave in and out of combat, applying damage over time rather than in a single moment. While Tusk’s Tag Team does amplify Weaver’s physical attacks, the core timings are off. Tusk creates a moment for a heavy nuke, but Weaver is built to chip away safely and use Time Lapse if he ever gets caught.

This disconnect plays out clearly in mid-game fights. Tusk will find a great initiation, trapping a support with Ice Shards, but Weaver can’t deliver the immediate follow-up damage needed to secure the kill before help arrives. The enemy team gets to punish Tusk for his deep commitment while Weaver is forced to skirmish from the edges or retreat. For the Tusk and Weaver side to succeed, they have to get so far ahead in the laning stage that their damage is simply overwhelming, because their combined kits don't offer a clean way to execute targets together later on.
