Weaver + Winter Wyvern

Why this works

Facing this duo often feels less threatening than it should. The core problem is that Winter Wyvern’s main defensive spell, Cold Embrace, roots its target. Weaver’s survivability depends entirely on his extreme mobility from Shukuchi and the ability to reposition with Time Lapse. Pinning him in place, even to heal him and block physical damage, usually makes him an easy target for stuns and magical burst the second the immunity ends. Furthermore, Winter's Curse disables a target that Weaver is then unable to attack, neutralizing his single-target damage during a key moment.

Throughout the game, this creates a clumsy dynamic. The Winter Wyvern’s attempts to save Weaver frequently get him killed instead, as enemies simply wait out the Cold Embrace and then pounce on the stationary target. This forces the Weaver player to be wary of their own support’s help, while the Wyvern has to hesitate before using their most impactful save. Opponents learn to bait out these abilities, knowing the two heroes struggle to coordinate a clean fight or escape. The result is a pairing that spends more effort trying not to trip over each other than executing a coherent plan.
