Windranger + Winter Wyvern

Why this works

Picking these two heroes together creates a specific timing conflict you have to play around. The core issue is that Windranger and Winter Wyvern both want to lock down and eliminate a single high-value target, but their ultimates are at odds. When Winter Wyvern uses Winter's Curse, the target becomes immune to all damage from your team. This means if Windranger wants to use Focus Fire on that same enemy, she can't. The primary target for one hero's ultimate becomes an invalid target for the other's, forcing them to de-sync their biggest spells.

This often leads to awkward teamfights where a perfect Winter's Curse is landed, but Windranger has to hold her own ultimate or try to find a secondary target during the chaos. While they don't function perfectly on offense, there is some defensive utility. Cold Embrace is a decent tool to save a caught Windranger, and Winter's Curse can be used to peel an attacker off her. To make it work, Windranger must focus a different enemy than the Cursed one, which requires more coordination than most hero pairings and can feel clumsy.
