Deadlock updates — what each one did, by the numbers

Every Deadlock update Batru tracks, newest first: what changed, and the measured hero win-rate movement from real matches once the post-update sample is big enough.

  1. City Never Sleeps

    Released Sep 29, 2026Measured

Valve shipped City Never Sleeps on September 29, 2026 — build 6712, announced at 20:25 UTC. It is primarily a map and neutrals update: every neutral camp is now a Haunt, the lanes are named Broadway, Greenwich and York, four new Districts open up between them, and a limited-time Broker trades Corrupted items. Six new heroes follow by player vote from October 2. This page tracks what the update did to the meta in measured numbers across 3.89 million matches — no speculation.

  2. Matchmaking Update

    Released Jul 30, 2026Measured

Valve shipped the Matchmaking Update on July 30, 2026 — the biggest systems change in Deadlock's history. The game now splits into Standard and Ranked queues, the ranking system was rebuilt with a renamed rank ladder, and seasons arrive with a soft reset. This page tracks what it did to the meta, in measured numbers: per-hero win-rate movement across more than a million post-update matches, next to the pre-update baselines — no speculation.

Measured win-rate movement appears on an update page only once enough post-update matches exist on both sides of the update; until then the page shows what changed and the pre-update baselines.
