Abaddon vs Crystal Maiden

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map early is much easier for Crystal Maiden's team. Her ability to consistently apply slows and roots with low-cooldown spells creates constant kill threats that Abaddon struggles to manage. He can dispel a single Frostbite with Aphotic Shield, but he can't be everywhere at once. Crystal Maiden's constant pressure forces his allies to play passively. This lets her team farm more aggressively, secure runes, and generally dictate the flow of the game before Abaddon’s defensive spells come fully online.

As the game progresses, Abaddon is often forced to use Borrowed Time to save himself or an ally from a fight that Crystal Maiden initiated, rather than as a tool to turn an engagement. His team plays from behind, reacting to ganks instead of making their own plays. The best way for Abaddon's side to get ahead is to focus on bursting CM down. She's fragile and often out of position to use her spells. If they can repeatedly find and kill her before a major teamfight breaks out, her team loses its main source of control, and the field becomes much more level.
