Abaddon vs Dawnbreaker

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a target near Abaddon often forces his hand early. Dawnbreaker’s entire kit is built around high-impact physical damage with Starbreaker, which is exactly the kind of threat that triggers Borrowed Time. The core of the issue for Abaddon is that his ultimate is a long-cooldown defensive tool. Dawnbreaker, on the other hand, can commit her main combo, force the save, back off to heal with her passive, and be ready to fight again much sooner. While Aphotic Shield can dispel a slow or stun, it often isn't enough to stop Dawnbreaker from completing her attack sequence and forcing a reaction.

Across the map, Dawnbreaker leverages her global presence with Solar Guardian to start fights where Abaddon isn't, forcing his team to play split and reactively. In head-on teamfights, she can dive a backliner, absorb the Aphotic Shield, and still have enough damage to make Borrowed Time pop. Once that major cooldown is gone, her team can reset or switch focus. Abaddon's goal is to stay glued to his key cores and perfectly time his saves, while the Dawnbreaker player constantly looks to exploit his cooldowns and split his team's attention.
