Abaddon vs Faceless Void

How this matchup plays

Catching a key target in Chronosphere is how Faceless Void wins games, but Abaddon's kit is designed to disrupt that exact plan. While Aphotic Shield can't save someone from the stun itself, it can be cast on a trapped ally to absorb a lot of Void's initial damage. If Abaddon is the one caught, Borrowed Time will almost always trigger, making him unkillable inside the Chronosphere. This means once it ends, he's free to turn the fight around with heals and a fresh shield for the focused ally, completely undoing Void's setup.

This dynamic creates a late-game standoff. The Faceless Void player has to look for a perfect Chronosphere that either catches Abaddon's core when he's too far away to help, or catches both of them. In response, Abaddon's team has to play clumped, daring the Void to commit his ultimate on a target that can't be burst down. The matchup doesn't really favor one hero over the other; it favors whichever player has better positioning and executes their ultimate more effectively in the decisive teamfight.
