Abaddon vs Nature's Prophet

How this matchup plays

Picking a global split-pusher like Nature's Prophet relies on creating map pressure and picking off isolated heroes. Abaddon makes this whole strategy difficult. His kit is built to survive burst and sustain through pressure. Aphotic Shield punishes chip damage from Treants, and Borrowed Time makes him an awful gank target. When Abaddon is the one initiating, Nature's Prophet is the one in trouble; Curse of Avernus can silence him on repeated attacks, preventing an escape with Teleportation.

This dynamic means Nature's Prophet has few good options. In lane, he can't bully Abaddon out. During the mid-game, his attempts to join fights and secure kills are often foiled by a well-timed shield or ultimate saving his target. As the game goes on, Abaddon can even become a predator, running at a split-pushing Prophet who lacks the tools to fight back against a durable frontliner. Nature's Prophet is forced to play a much more cautious game, unable to create the chaos he normally thrives on.
