Abaddon vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Playing against Necrophos feels like a race against the clock. His Heartstopper Aura constantly wears down your whole team, making it much easier to find a kill with Reaper's Scythe. For Abaddon, this is especially dangerous. If Necrophos can get Abaddon's health low enough, the Scythe's burst damage can kill him outright, completely bypassing his Borrowed Time. The stun from the ultimate also prevents Abaddon from manually triggering his own save, creating a clean window for Necrophos's team to finish him off even if the initial damage isn't lethal.

A lategame Abaddon usually feels unkillable, but here he has to play with more respect. He'll often need extra health items to stay above the Reaper's Scythe threshold. While Abaddon is excellent at saving his teammates from Necrophos with Aphotic Shield and heals, he can't reliably save himself from that well-timed ultimate. The matchup becomes about positioning; Abaddon tries to stay healthy and out of initiation range, while Necrophos hunts for an opportunity to secure the kill before Borrowed Time can turn the fight.
