Abaddon vs Snapfire

How this matchup plays

Catching an enemy out of position with Snapfire's spells feels great, right up until Abaddon shows up. A single Aphotic Shield instantly removes both the slow from Mortimer Kisses and the stun from Firesnap Cookie, completely ruining the setup. Trying to burst Abaddon himself is often worse, as he can trigger Borrowed Time and heal through the entire combo. However, Snapfire still puts out a lot of pressure. Lil' Shredder can reduce a target’s armor, making them much easier for her cores to kill, and her damage is high enough that she can sometimes secure a kill on an Abaddon's ally before he has time to react.

This matchup is a game of chicken. Laning against Abaddon can be a grind, as his sustain from Mist Coil often negates Snapfire's poke damage. In teamfights, the whole engagement revolves around cooldowns and baiting key spells. Snapfire wants Abaddon to waste his shield on a less important target or debuff, clearing the way for her to lock down and eliminate a priority hero. Abaddon wants to hold his abilities for the exact moment Snapfire commits her ultimate. The outcome usually depends on which player reads the fight better and times their abilities more effectively.
