Abaddon vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst a target with Shukuchi and Germinate Attack feels frustrating when an Abaddon is nearby. A timely Aphotic Shield removes the slow and absorbs enough of the initial damage to let the target reposition safely. This forces Weaver to either abandon the gank or overcommit for a kill that might be undone by Borrowed Time anyway. On the flip side, if Weaver gets caught out himself, the stacking slow from Curse of Avernus can prevent him from escaping, making him an easy target if he misplays his positioning.

This core interaction shapes the entire match. Weaver can't play his usual aggressive pick-off style as freely and has to be much more selective with his targets, often waiting for Abaddon to use his spells first. He’s forced to poke from the perimeter of fights rather than diving the supports. Abaddon rarely has the lockdown to actually kill a slippery Weaver on his own, so he functions more as a powerful defensive obstacle. This constant disruption to Weaver's game plan is usually enough to give Abaddon's team a slight upper hand.
