Playing against a team with Arcane Aura often means dealing with more spell spam and aggression than usual. This constant pressure can force fights on terms that aren't ideal for Ancient Apparition, who prefers a slower pace to find the perfect Ice Blast. While his ultimate is great at stopping enemy healing, Crystal Maiden's own kit offers mana and control, not sustain, so she isn't directly countered by it. Meanwhile, her simple Frostbite is a very effective tool for locking down and killing the slow, fragile Ancient Apparition if he's ever caught out of position.

The game plan for Crystal Maiden's team is usually to leverage their superior mana to group up, push towers, and control the map early. This denies AA the space and time he needs to farm and position for those game-winning ultimates from the back line. If the fight is over quickly, the healing prevention from Ice Blast doesn't have time to be a deciding factor. AA's team has to play more cautiously, relying on good vision and counter-initiation to punish CM's aggression. A good Ice Blast can always swing a fight, but CM's ability to consistently enable her team gives her a slight edge.
